rising up the air ....

dadalaaaa, dalaaa. I think everbody knows the song of the wonderful bud spencer and terence hill movie, and I did the same. In fact I perfectly avoided it for nearly a whole year to take my 30th birthday present, but now Martin give me no other chance ... I had to "open my birthday gift" on this nice may evening. people who have enough hobbies like motorcycle racing, their own company, model air piloting, etc. do really find the time to make a pilot´s license and I had to commit he offered me a nice sightseeing flight for my 30th birthday. no way, I had to be drunk on my birthday party, as you can imagine. martin booked an aeroplane und throw me into the cold water, better to say, moved me into higher spheres.
yes, and to be honest: I´m a coward, regarding small aeroplanes. I think, human beings should move as god has intended them to move: with a motorbike!
joking apart, my problem is: I get sick in cars, on ships,... what would be in very small aeroplane? there was only a very small window on my right side?
But, for gods sake, I didn´t have any of these problems. The getting sick easily coward stayed on the ground, while I enjoyed a trip to the clouds and I had really no time for getting sick oder afraid: there was so much to see!
the start was without any problems and was very elegantly and then we flow over Wiener Neustadt (what a small town! I always knew it) , right back to the Schneeberg (still snow on the mountain top so no chance of hiking oder biking), to Semmering (not enough snow for skiing) and finally the Neusiedler See. There I got the chance to fly two endless minutes on my own. "Just fly straight ahead" he told me, but unlike the street I had more dimensions than left, right and straight ahead, because you also have UP and more frightening DOWN. What shell I say, I´ve troubles to distinct Right from Left (No, the other right!), I admit it, I´m blond!
So, my mission: Straight ahead wasn´t quite like that. It looked more like a drunken bird on his way home. Hope I will never be in the situation to fly an Austrian Airline plane home, because I know now the landing wouldn´t be as elegantly as Martin´s landing was. Of course the pilot got a frenetic applause from me, and my "pope" greeting of the mainland were just formal gestures. .

But my conclusion is: I really liked that and I did a huge amount of pics you can find in my picasa album. See you next time, on the ground! ;)
